not what I expected
Tom Petty Tribute - Petty Thief has transformed its style. I originally adored his indie music. Everything he sang and wrote, I loved. This show was different, as he declared during the concert, this was his movie. There was not much of his previous music. I acknowledge he is promoting a new record, nonetheless, it was evident during the show that fans were there to listen to both. He performed a few past songs and the audience came alive and reacted. His talent is undeniable regardless of the music genre. It appears he has delved into the music he adores, heavy metal guitar with lengthy riffs that caused yawning among the audience. I had difficulty staying awake and noticed many sleepy attendees. Perhaps he should have balanced it more evenly. Incorporate more of why people come, Mr. Adams. We appreciate your new music, but we crave the essence that initially captivated us. His comedic side shone through, and we relished his banter with the audience and band members. The band was fantastic! I might not continue traveling long distances for his shows unless we see more of the old Ryan Adams resurfacing. Just diversify more. That's all. Please. Oh, and why conclude with a BRIAN ADAMS song? Why? Why would he do that?
